Rugby, soccer, and cricket are the most watched, celebrated and played type of  international sport in South Africa.

Sports vary from season to season with rugby and soccer drawing to an end soon, the last of the rugby matches being played in November. Cricket will be the next few months highlights- with the Supersport Series kicking off in October-South Africa’s premier four-day competition, at the Supersport Park in Centurion.
Ellis Park Stadium is home to the Orlando Pirates soccer team, the Super 14 Southern Hemisphere rugby competition, as well as the Currie Cup domestic rugby competitions.

Cricket is also played at the Wanderers Stadium, just south of Sandton, where first class cricket, test matches and one day matches are played. The Johannesburg Stadium hosted the eighth  IAAF World Cup of Athletics in 2003.The Rand Stadium in Rosettenville, is the oldest stadium in Johannesburg-it is the home of the Moroko Swallows Football team.

World acclaimed golf course can be found at the Sun City Resort Complex, which was designed by a South African golfing great, Gary Player- the Nedbank Golf Challenge (formerly known as the Million Dollar Challenge) gets played here December of every year.
